About
A UK technology company focused on voice-first AI for the languages most labs overlook.
Founder
Anil Kumar Mullagiri
Anil started Friendly Characters Limited because the commercial AI most people now rely on works badly in the languages spoken across South Asia. The gap is well documented but has not been a priority for the major labs. He set up the company specifically to take that work seriously, voice-first.
Anil's background is in enterprise software, with two decades of consulting experience advising businesses on large-scale systems. He holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and a BSc in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. He works from London, United Kingdom.

Values
How we work.
Privacy by design
We collect only what a product genuinely needs to function. Sensitive data is minimised, encrypted in transit and at rest, and kept out of model-training pipelines.
Language-first
We build for our users' first language, not English with translation bolted on. Voice models, prompts, and product flows are designed in the target language.
No dark patterns
We don't engineer for engagement at any cost. No infinite scrolls, no manipulation tactics, no nudges designed to keep you hooked. The app should serve you, not the other way around.
Transparent pricing
What you pay and what you get for it is documented plainly. No auto-renewals you have to hunt to cancel, no hidden tiers, no surprise charges.
